The Hollywood PetSmart charges more than most other ones, naturally. As we were checking him in, a young woman strolled by in a pink shirt that just said "ME", with two white poodles in tow. Priceless.

With Rex all checked in, we hit up a Coffee Bean for some coffee and some awesome jalapeno-pepperjack croissants. And we were off.

... slash boarding house, to have our bagel and coffee breakfast watching the constantly increasing number of joggers, cyclists, skaters, boarders, walkers and octogenarian dodderers. What a fantastic place to watch the world go by. British Columbia was great - so much to offer and made all the more special sharing some great moments with friends and family.
On to a fun stop-over in Los Angeles before heading across the Pacific. Highlight for the kids was Universal Studios - awesome thrill rides and they loved seeing some of their favourite characters. Had to sneak off at lunchtime to see a Beverley Hills orthodontist to fix Luke's braces wire that has come loose - very efficient and ...

... with the carriage you sit in actually jumping between screens throughout the ride.

At this point the tour had come to an end, however Jess and I went on to look at the Animal Actors show. This included some very cute animals which had all had their 15 minutes of fame, as well as showing us the type of training required for animals to be able to play specific parts in various movies. This includes flying against a fan (for the birds), and also using voice ...

... just off Hollywood Boulevard. The 'drive-in' (it's also a diner) has a totally 1950's theme, complete with a large juke box and mini juke boxes at all the booths. The booths are decked out very authentic 1950's style and there is a soda bar in the centre of the restaurant. Boy was I in love with this place!!! "Why don't we have anything like this in Melbourne"? I moaned to Paul. I felt as though I was in an episode of American Graffiti, and as coincidence ...
