... and it certainly took me by surprise. I didn't buy the picture that they take of you on the ride because it was stupid money, but if you have seen The Mummy and you can remember the bit where Imhotep creates the sandstorm in the image of his face then you can probably imagine how wide my mouth was in that picture.

... a lovely balcony view of the town right next to the Hollywood sign and the Capitol Records building. Great for seeing things and being out of downtown LA, but not so great for two girls walking back alone late evening/during the night. Were expecting massive lines and time spent getting through customs, but turns out it wasn't that bad. We arrived in a remote terminal of LAX due to renovations being completed at the airport so we missed all of the duty-free shopping, etc. We were questioned a bit by the ...

... To add to the intensity, there was also a number of characters (Spider man, Darth Vader) preying on tourists for photo snaps.

Once arriving at my hostel I desperately wanted some rest. I knew this was not an option and needed to stay engaged to keep myself going. The hostel had great public spaces and soon met Kaz, fluent in Japanese, French and English as well as a close to home Aussie from Gosnells. We kept ...
