    ... drag myself out and about as best I can. If I want to hike, I just bundle up and wear raingear. I skip winter biking (cold ears), but I still try to explore and find ways to get out and do things that don't require it being summer. It can be nice not to have crowds at the beach, neighborhood strips, etc. It's not going to be the same as summer- no cheery warm sun to perk everything up- but it's still great to get out and enjoy things.

    ... available, right next to a lovely older woman and immediately got chatting to her. She and her husband were from the east coast, over in Seattle and heading to Portland to visit their two children. The husband wasn't very chatty, but she was lovely. She told us that she loved everything to do with England and was a fan of Agatha Christie, but that she'd never been able to get over to visit, which we encouraged her to do.
