While the area is slightly depressed, the hotel is extremely clean and safe. The rooms are large and very clean too.

I think we all slept well as no one wanted to get up, that and we were all knackered from yesterday. Up, the unanimous vote for breckie was to go back to Tads Steakhouse. Really filling and well cooked. Set us up for the day! This time we jumped in a taxi and wizzed down to the docks to get the Golden Gate Bridge tour. The bus this time was a single decker with the front third covered and the rest open top. We were late so ended up in the covered ...

    Well Hello there again!
Blogs are appearing pretty frequent again as we have been doing a LOT! So from Santa Cruz we left for Yosemite national park on Wednesday the 2nd of July before continuing our drive up to San Francisco. It was an extremely long drive but all three of us were keen about going. And it was well worth it- one of the best natural spots we have been too. (Definitely one of our favorite days since we have been travelling!) The national ...

... the 1.25 miles to shore.

The prison was closed in 1963 as it was too expensive to run.

In 1970 a group of Native American activists took over the island as a protest at the treatment of Native Americans. The occupation lasted 15 months. The protest opened the eyes of the people to the plight of the Native Americans and, funnily enough, to the plight of the island. Soon after it was handed over to the National ...
