While the area is slightly depressed, the hotel is extremely clean and safe. The rooms are large and very clean too.

Then we went to Musee Mecanique which is right on the waterfront - basically a museum of antique arcade games, very cool. Most were only a quarter - or at the most $0.75. There was lots of fortunes or What kind of lover are you? (careful apparently :P) One was a huge ...

... driving over the Golden Gate Bridge where the GPS recalculated and told us it was 2 hours arrival time to get back to where we were going. This caused a great deal of stress, fortunately Ashley's GPS told him a different way, we followed him and got back only about 10 minutes late although the missed turn cost us $14:00 in tolls! What we worked out was our GPS which is the one we bought secondhand had been set for ...

... I looked at the shops in Union Square and bought some Clinique products for Mum and myself. Luckily the sales lady told me they have special gifts with purchases starting on Tuesday, so I was able to pre-buy the items, qualify for 2 gifts, plus she threw in a free full-size cleanser!

Tuesday, Aug. 26: We will hit the road (Jack) bright and early in our packed CR-V and U-Haul truck, headed for Elk Grove, CA, just outside of Sacramento. After storing most of our worldly possessions in a 5x10 storage unit, it's a long 11 hours or so to Park City, UT to camp and scratch our heads in ...

... worth it! After the bakery we drove to the airport and I reluctantly said goodbye to Kraiby. I made it through with tearing up and not full on crying, much to Kraiby and Husb's relief I'm sure. It had been nine months since we'd been together back in Manhattan, Kansas, and I vowed that it would not be another nine before I saw him again. I miss you Kraib!

After the airport, Husb and I drove back into the city via the scenic coastal route which ...
