While the area is slightly depressed, the hotel is extremely clean and safe. The rooms are large and very clean too.

... scene. A crazy taxi ride home from some old age sleaze who thought he was a 21 year snoop dogg, playsuit on hair redone and make up reapplied it was back in a taxi and down to Castro street. I had such a good night, it was so cheap and everyone was in high spirits. Me, Betina and Sofia had a good drink, dance and laugh. As I had a 6 am wake call I decided to call it a night. Had a fantastic end of my trek going to bed with a big smile on my face ...

... so restaurant is probably a stretch more like a cafe but the food was great.

Tomorrow the others are heading for New York and Darren and I pick up our convertible mustang an start our drive to Long Beach where we will base ourselves for a few days. Its only about a 6 hour drive but we are doing it over two days. We plan on stopping at all the little towns along the coast to explore and soak up the atmosphere.

The time had come again to set sail on our own and head back to San Francisco for a couple of days. First stop, a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.

... Bridge. We took the MUNI bus (local transit) to the closest we could get, then we walked about 3 miles along the Marina district and the Presidio area until arriving at the Bridge. Last time I was in San Francisco, I did this excursion by bike which was fantastic…however, if you were in Bermuda and saw my Mom on a moped - hell, no! She was NOT going on a bike! Haha. She even joked about trying the Segway tour….not a chance!

We woke up early in the am with the sound of strong wind and hard rain. Thank God I had spent time caulking and sealing up hotel california because at 1 am you don't want to worry about leaks when your locked in a campground! When it got daylight we planned on leaving and going to the aquarium together since it was raining. The rain had stopped for a moment and I decided to make a few casts from the bank before we left. I fully expected to catch one ...
