The former ambassador to Indonesia and a current US UN officer spoke with the kids about careers in International Relations.

      ... in Austin downtown...everywhere. I expect that during July when the average max is 36deg these rooftop bars would be pretty crowded.

      Out for dinner with Sam and Ailien at ZTejas. They market themselves as a Southwestern Grill and have a diverse menu so you can't miss out. Sue and I had southern meatloaf which was superb...so was the cornbread and Tortilla soup.

      I am currently sat at another airport waiting for my 3rd delayed flight and starving because they have shut all the restaurant because it is 9 in the evening. This fantastic stop on my journey was the first where I spent the whole time in a hostel on my own and now I am on my way to San Fran.

      ... brake you need to pedal backwards, which I took a long time to get used to! It was a hot day and we were sweaty from the outset.       ... to try a crazy donut too, but oh well. Next time! So we headed back to 6th street and grabbed Amy's Icecream, which was very good! However we were very full and had tapped out at that point!

      Once we had finished eating, we went back to our hotel and got ready to celebrate the new year! We went to our friends house and enjoyed a quiet evening watching the ball drop and spending time with friends. It was wonderful! Happy 2013!!!
