Dubrovnik, Croatia richlum... from this city, do they visited Dubrovnik before etc and later i'm going to make a documental movie about this. I am visiting Dubrovnik fourth year already. Everything was started on 2004 when i was first time in Dubrovnik. First impression about this city was so emotional and great. This is the city which inviting you back once again and again. Croatian people are so kind and warm hearted. The nature is amazing.
Dubrovnik, Croatia vixia... small soccer nets in the alley ways which would make for a sweet FIFA street type game. Everyone pretty exhausted and really really sweaty. I couldn't remember feeling hotter even in Greece and Italy. The walking in the morning exposed to the sun was brutal at least there was a fair bit of shade in old town. We were pitched some boat excursions to the three nearby islands and even were offered one with unlimited drinks and juices, etc and a lunch for 200 kuna or less ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia much-eh... everywhere, which I avoided as much as possible! I thought this was a cute little shop. It is built into the walls of the city. One of the last things I did as we were leaving the city was to purchase a painting from this street artist. I know what you're thinking, paintings are the last thing I need! But this one is a small, blue watercolor of ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia barbo19... There was going to be a big party in the old town but int the end we were so tired after several nights of limited sleep that we stayed at the hostel. everything was closed and we couldn't find anywhere to eat nearby but luckily we met a nice guy who shared his dinner with us. It was simple but yummy - chicken and cabbage broth with rice. We also bumped into an Aussie lady who'd been in our hsotel in Krakow. We were well asleep by midnight...hehe!
Dubrovnik, Croatia darcygirlnz... and wondered at the hate that must have existed to bomb the city in the civil war but were disappointed that the streets had too many modern stores or cafes. The city has no feeling. An old city should be like Jerusalem or any of the towns in the Middle East but Dubrovnik was an outdoor shopping centre. Lastly Paul started his collection of statue shots - tickled pick he was with this one!!!
Dubrovnik, Croatia paul_and_mandy... the temperature was nice and warm, it was soon apparent a tempest was brewing over our heads. With people scurrying about we decided our 5 minute picnic needed to be cut short. We made a hurried walk to our hostel until rain started dropping and leaves were blown in every direction. Suddenly people (like Mark) started bolting through the narrow streets like it was the running of the bulls in Pamplona. We arrived just in time and ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia markcreery... go on extended vacations. At one restaurant it appeared that they were having a Margaret Thatcher look-a-like contest and a resort that we walked by had all of the vitality and liveliness of a tortoise farm. We rarely see people our own age and have speculated that most people our age have young families and careers and do not have the resources for an extended leave.5 Collette loved Cavtat because of two words; turtles and kittens. Next to the three story ...
Cavtat, Croatia fezmonkey... atrocities (In fact, one of the main reasons Croatia hasn't been admitted into the EU is that they are reluctant to turn over their war criminals), but when the Serbs launched strikes on the morning of October 1, 1991, they were essentially trying to demoralize a nation by damaging its poster city, the Pearl of the Adriatic, and its most prized possession - Dubrovnik. It's hard to imagine that a place would be attacked based on its tourist value, and we heard the story ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia the_stamms... we headed for the ferry. We bought our tickets and boarded the 830am boat. The ship was a bit surreal. It was enormous, and not really set up as a commuter ferry. It did accommodate a slew of cars, and there were four or five additional passenger decks, with several restaurants and also many cabins, complete with beds and bathrooms. The staterooms were not used for our sub-2 hour voyage, of course, and it was odd to even be using such a ship on such a route. But I reckon that ...
