Last Wednesday was showery with thunder so we pottered around the site ahead of our much anticipated meal out at Konoba Batelina which was highly recommended in Lonely Planet as well as on-line. (Konoba is a Croatian phenomenon - a family-run dining place.) The owner, fisherman and chef, David Skoko, is well-known, world-wide apparently, for using all parts of fishy creatures in his imaginative dishes and the menu varies according to the locally-caught catch of the day. ... bus ride into the city walls. It's quiet, friendly, a guesthouse, with amazingly friendly hosts. Our room is on the second floor with a long verandah overlooking the pool and marina. After getting some basic information form our host we hopped on the bus and headed for the old town. For 220kunas each we got a 7 day Dubrovnik pass giving us 20 bus trips and entrance all museums and the city wall walk. With our bus trip last night and 10% discount on dinner we already have ...

... to add to Dons summary above):
Okay, for the record, it has been scientifically proven that Nutella is gross (Sciene 1994). Secondly, oh my god the bread in Europe is so good! Apparently it's my new mission in life to eat every peice of bread or pastry within my reach (again, unless it has Nutella, which pretty much everything you eat has a 50% chance of having. Ugh). They are going to have to roll me out ...
