Homeward Bound

We had a great time in Quebec although it is quite cold. We got some rain which didn't really put a kibosh on what we did. Again, our timing was all wrong -- most of the things we wanted to do were closed on Monday and, of course, that was the day we had to explore. We ended up going to a waterfall which was really cool in itself but we happened upon an historic building that had ...

... his Astrolabe. It stayed there for 254 years, until it was found in 1867 by Edward George Lee, a 14-year-old farm boy helping his father clear trees near Green Lake (now Astrolabe Lake). ... wrong way, get off at the liberty park exit, and get back on it to get to Holland tunnel. End up in a very rough part of town. I cause dad's friend's blood pressure to shoot through the roof (2nd time of the day, he didn't much like the 'Jersey suburbs).

Finally get on the turnpike in the right direction and the cars stop. This was expected, it is Friday evening. What isn't expected is 6 lanes of traffic being crammed into a two lane tunnel in the middle of city ...

Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

... out wherever needed. The highlights have to be cutting the lawns with a ride-on mower and using an old tractor to operate a muck spreader. I had to stop the machine whenever a big rock got caught up in it, followed by diving into the pile of **** to free said rock, but the manure exposure was nicely cancelled out by being able to move the tractor forward and back to allow the pile of manure to be pushed into a more organised pile by the other tractor. So now I’ve driven a tractor ...
