LAGOS, Nigeria chibaby... Where is your supervisor?" "Ok, you don't have to pay." About 6:00 pm we boarded the plane. As we took off a orangish-brown haze hung over the landscape draping the city in layer of soot, smoke and vehicle exhaust. The flight to Abuja took lasted about one hour. We gathered our bags then five of us crammed into a car with our luggage in the trunk and on our laps and headed fro our hotel.

We were about five miles from our destination when we came upon an accident. Our driver backed up and crossed over to the other side of the divided highway through a break in the wall and for the next few miles we drove into oncoming traffic while he flashed his headlights from low to high beam and blew his horn.
