The Warhawk's first game of the 2015 Europe trip was against the Swiss team in an outstanding complex in Zurich. The sports complex housed 16 soccer teams and a totally up-to-date baseball field - beautiful turf and the weather was great.

Many errors on both sides, but the Warhawks prevailed with a 20-9 win. The baseball club hosted us following the game with a meal of traditional snitzel. This was one of the longest games ...

... some of the shops and ended up finding some computers. I was slightly annoyed that I wasn't able to send any messages from my phone, all I had wanted to do was tell my parents I had arrived at the airport for the connecting flight. Unfortunately because we arrived at the beginning of winter the bears had begun to hibernate and so we got a lovely view of their park but didn’t get ...

After a bit of a lie in, we left to explore Zurich city. Another sunny day! First stop - a boat trip along the river and into the lake. We took one of the 'bus' type commuter ferries from near the train station, which headed south down the river. The buildings lining the river are pretty - old tall townhouses, with shutters on their windows. After ducking under the 7 bridges of the city, we were out onto the lake. Zurich lake is 140km long and 143m deep at it's ...

... more full after this! It was about time to head back to the train station though, to pick up our bags and get ready to go to Murten, via Bern and Kerzers! Thankfully, Fabian had messaged Bradley with instructions about what trains to take and when to change, so we managed it all without mishap and didn't even have to buy tickets thanks to our rail passes! It was nice to see some Swiss countryside on the train, and to see a friendly face when we arrived in ...
