      ... found the perfect thing - a Katsu sandwich! Pork Katsu, with cabbage, katsu sauce and Japanese mayonnaise between white bread - delicious. Back at the ryokan, we had a long soak in the bath, with the best views I had ever known from a bath and read our books in our yukatas overlooking the lakes. It was a very pleasant way to spend the rest of the afternoon, as we ramped up the relaxation on this holiday. Soon enough, it was time for another epic dinner. ...

      The train from Shinjuku to Otsuki passed in a flash, as I was asleep before we had left Shinjuku and Kim woke me as we were pulling into Otsuki. Kim tells me the journey was very picturesque, as the train winds up through the mountains with cherry blossoms all around, but I have no idea as I was out like a light!       ... the Taiwanese couple had walked 50m and found the Ryokan and called us on. We all left our bags and went back to catch the train up to Souzan. At Souzan it was starting to get colder as we transferred to the gondola ropeway. I had mentioned to mum that we were meant to be able to see Mt Fuji from the half way point in the gondola.
