... much as possible as we really didn’t want to burn the diesel. We had waited for a week to get a decent weather window and hoped that the weather forecast that we got off the Internet and SSB radio turned out to be true.
About an hour before dark the wind started to drop and the sails began banging and slatting so we dropped the main and genoa and brought out our new weapon. Well its not actually new but it is new to us and we had bought a new snuffer for it. It’s a ...
... and Tatiana have a lovely son who is now seven months old is called 'Ignacio Valentino' and of course he is just gorgeous!
Before we knew it Alain was due to fly home and we took him back to the airport for his flight back to Madrid and then on to Paris.
We spent another few days at the Sun Island Apartments and then flew home on the 19th
... enjoy some of the ocean crossing. It will certainly be a test but that´s why I am doing it so just got to try to make the best of it and enjoy as much of it as I can.
Paul is an excellant skipper, really knows his stuff and the boat is incredibly well organised and equipped. His son Tom is now joining us so will be pretty cramped with 5 on board but he knows the boat so should make it easier for us all to learn to sail the thing.
... which was great.
We had to fill in a bit of time so we hired a car and did a bit of sightseeing. We watched a surfing competition at Famara, which brought back happy memories for Kevin! and checked out Timanfaya park. We ate out and cooked in the tiny kitchen. It was great to be in the sunshine again. No work or pressure and enjoying the change of scene.

Mercury Rising left Puerto Calero and many good nights behind, on 17th November. We set sail for the Atlantic crossing after a final farewell with family and friends. That morning, we joined Jackame and left Lanzarote with favorable weather ...

A hole in the ground was used to set fire to some gorse and a natural barbecue using volcanic heat also provided all the heat for cooking in the adjacent restaurant.
Arrecife, Canary Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mickinwhitby... architecture in this area reminded me of places I visited in Havana. People – I mean locals are very friendly, but don’t know much English. With the little Spanish that I know, the English and Greek, I could understand. Besides in Greek we have many identical words.
A STROLL IN THE CITY AND THE CENTRAL BEACHES
There are clouds in the sky today, and I don't feel like going swimming.
It is a day of taking photos!
The stroll is great because there is a sea breeze that makes my walk pleasant.
ALOE CLUB RESORT
I have made reservations through (Hotels4U.com).
I had read both good and bad comments.
I found the deal promising, but I was not sure as to what I would find upon arriving, and knowing that it was just a 2 star hotel. It is the first time I book at a 2 star hotel and was expecting the worse!
We got to the hotel by taxi, and here I want to ...
... 5km apart from the port, thus I took a shuttle bus. It was nicely warm, but the place itself not so amazing. The guys from my team that went with a tour to the volcanos, they were stunned. The town is pretty nice. White houses with blue windows and door, which is what I like the most :) I wandered around for about an hour, then I came back to the ship. THe next one is a row would be Tenerife.
