We had a great sleep last night in our little third floor pension which we found online. The bed was great as was this mornings European breakfast. After checking out, we walked through Haslach and took a few photos of this neat little Black Forest town.

Heading north, we passed through Lichtenau and of course had to stop at 7 Sommerfeld Strasse, our first home away from home (1975-78) The Murphy gang might remember that there was an Edeka grocery ...

I don't know why we thought this was going to go smoothly.Around four weeks out from entering Europe (well, needing to use a Eurail pass - we have had various discussions about when exactly we entered Europe proper!) Simone decided that this was "on ...

Today we had a nice slow start to the day with a sleep in and a casual breakie in our room...and decided to leave the hotel at about 12 (also slow because of our legs haha).
Our first mission was back on the train into town to check out the Köln Dom. This church is incredible! One of the biggest Gothic churches in Europe. When your standing outside of it, you certainly understand why. It towers over all the other buildings and is the largest structure in the cities skyline. We ...
