Most cities have a centre where you can sit and take in the surroundings, but at the moment in Amsterdam this area is filled with rides, arcade games and sweet stalls. Good for tourists, we bought some poffertjes (is that the spelling? Dutch pancakes?), and it made it easy to find your way around with the tall rides as a compass-point for the city. Amsterdam said screw that, come here and we'll let you do an internship. The government said they'd fine ...

... a beach volleyball match being played in the square, and a bar on wheels with a group of friends drinking while pedalling their way around the streets! I was determined to taste a few more quintessential Dutch snacks, so we tried pancakes and later some bitterballen (a croquette filled with meat and cheese and served with mustard). Washed down with a Heineken, the bitterballen hit the spot! In ...

... rid of their unwanted items. I even came across a guy who offered people to pelt him with fruits and veggies for a small fee...really innovative but painful? Since most places are closed and with limited public transportation available, decided to visit the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum. Some of the paintings look familiar, especially the Sunflower painting. Too bad we can't take pictures of ...
