It had to have been 32C and we had no desire to wait in a line in the heat. We will try to see it tomorrow. ... the place is huge - has 5 operating runways compared to Heathrow's 2) we found our shuttle meeting point. We actually made our way to the hotel in a taxi provided as a replacement for the shuttle, watching in amazement as our driver skilfully avoided the literally thousands of cyclists (they out-number cars probably 5 to 1). He proceeded to drive directly down the tram tracks using special traffic lights set up for them to ...

... care of ourselves. Many more New Year's ahead of me to make up for this poor one!

The thing that got me through the night was calling Scott back home and talking to him about everything. Scott put reason into my head and calmed me down, he also made sure I got home safely and in one piece.

One highlight was all the fireworks people displayed in the streets, very different to Australian culture as there was no advertised fireworks and people made their ...
