... don't worry it does that every night) We then took the taxi boats home and no one got left behind! Yaaaay! After the boats we had to very aggressively get into the city buses. This resulted in a stampede as there were so many people trying to get on. After an incredibly crowded bus ride home we walked for a bit and got to our hotel room. Of course there was one last surprise for us in our hotel room...a colony of ants decided to set up camp ...

    A day in Venice

Today once again we set off early. We went to the Murano glass factory. We saw them blowing glass and then they took us into the sale room. Special prices "just for us". A traghetto is an excellent way to ...

... photos looking down the canals. We walked and explored for a bit longer before grabbing some lunch. I tried the much talked up squid ink pasta, but mine wasn’t that great. Everything just tasted fishy? Maybe the restaurant wasn’t that great, when I looked the restaurant up later it had horrible reviews on trip advisor. Walking back to the train station which doubled as a water bus stand on the grand canal we caught a bus to the island of Murano, renowned for ...

... and had had a lot of beef the week before, I ordered a platter of fresh, raw fish from the Rialto market and some pasta. The raw fish plate was good but the pasta rather disappointing. Margaret ordered a seafood salad and a sea food mix cooked in a bag, a sort of Italian bouillabaisse which she enjoyed. We should have shared our dinner as her dinner was easily large enough for two.

Tired and sleepy, we passed on entertainment for which Venice is renown, and went to sleep rather ...
