    ... a rush to secure these seats, which gave us a wonderful view of the scenery between Izumo Taisha and Matsue, and most particularly an uninterrupted view of Lake Shinji, as we entered the city of Matsue. A little kindness that we really appreciated as we had no idea the seats were available.

    ... house overlooking a beautiful garden - felt like we were back in time in the old, traditional Japan.

    After catching japanese birds on the camera we stopped at one of Matsue's sweet / souvenir shops - where every item looked so unfamiliar, we have never felt so strange in the sweet shop before!
    We have obviously bought few items including tea made of a cherry blossom!

    ... with a little bit of help, created some very nice pieces of Japanese pottery. Ethan was proclaimed the pottery king! After we did the pottery we were given special macha tea and Sakura sweet, wrapped in a leaf from a cherry blossom tree. They then gave us some of their pottery.
