After a nicely-catered flight on Singapore Airlines (endless food and drinks served in a first class fashion!), we woke up (John slept little to not at all, Sally and Jill not much more!) flying over Ireland around 8:00 in the morning (1 AM central time). In a sort of non-ironic irony that you might expect to see in an Alanis Morissette lyric, I spent the last 24 hours running around trying to replace money, cards and ID after my wallet was stolen. Yes, that's right, I was pickpocketed at home, a day before departing for Europe. Go figure. Alex had thought he had heard Lisa wanted a drive so the poor girls first experience of the autobahn was on a wet dark night with kruppy lights on the car. She did an amazing job and 30 minutes later (11 o'clock) we arrived at our kruppiest hotel yet.
