Karlshamn. If I had not been with someone while I was there it would have been a bit of a bore. My favorite part of the town was the square. I can’t imagine Karlshamn has much of a tourist population but it did have Karlshamn postcards. The square was filled with elderly relaxing as they watched the day go by. I can’t say there was anything special about the town besides the people that live there. ...

I take my hat off, I really do, to Chay Blyth who was the first person to sail around the world 'the wrong way' ie against the prevailing winds. After this, our second day of passage-making into the wind, we’re already fed up! The boat is thrown about constantly, always at an angle of 30° plus and it is very hard to accomplish anything, even as simple as making a cup of coffee or dealing, some time later, with its effects, if you get my drift. Add cold, or at least ...

... pavilion, so the windy weather didn't affect the party. Kroppkaka was served for dinner. This dish is a favorite for Lori’s family back in Minnesota, so it was a special treat for her to try it in Sweden, where it originated. Everyone enjoyed the kroppkaka, translated as “body cakes” in English, and left with their host families for our last night in this lovely city. ...
