      ... Carbonara. Which after 11 hours actually tastes pretty good. With dinner taken care of, I even got to make a pot of tea. This camp site is so, so much better than the last one, and if I'm lucky I'll get to see a sunset over the lake before I go to sleep. Tomorrow night and the next night I've got a booking at a hostel in Stockholm which will give me a day to explore the city, and then it's off to Oslo to meet Jess, which I'm quite looking forward ...

      ... tatty affair at the northern end of the island (see photo) – we were glad that we hadn’t ended up there!

      Later that evening, we finally had cause to break into Julie’s stores and had an M&S Beef Rendang from a tin and good old M&S, It was very tasty. Later again we watched the latest Wallander episode, nice and warm thanks to the blow heater, the sound of which didn’t quite drown out the noise of the rain and wind howling ...
