... 36 hours or so. The Eurail app shows us a route from Stockholm to Helsinki by bus and train that takes about 36 hours. We need to go to the information desk later on to get more details. If we follow the suggested route we will have a tight connection, which if we miss means we would be stuck up by the Arctic circle. Good news though, tonight there is supposed to be high activity from the Northern Lights. Fingers crossed for clear skies.

I'm just fortunate enough to have it as my first language, but I am so infinitely impressed with how not only the Swedes, but all the exchange students as well, can switch between two (and sometimes three or four) different languages. One of my Swedish flatmates was explaining to me that it is considered rude for a Swede to not ...

Of course, when you go to a beautiful new city, there is much more to appreciate than its transportation system... We were taken to Luleň Cathedral and I was fortunate enough to go inside. During our trip to Gammelstad, I wasn't able to go into the church because there was a baptism going on at the time, so I was really glad that I was able to go into the cathedral this time. After the cathedral, we headed to the top of City Hall to experience some of the ...

... seen the Princess of Sweden arrive on a 300 year old wooden ship in Luleň's harbor. I wouldn't have met some of the most welcoming and fun people, and I wouldn't have had a beautiful evening. I woke up that morning annoyed that I couldn't contact anyone, and had no idea that I would end the day cooking a feast and playing a ridiculous French drinking game with my two new friends.

The next morning, my mission was to finally get a bike. As nice as it was to ...
