Ehh... What is there to write? Peruvian cuisine is at its best here. The sun is potent, the drinks go down way too easy, there's just enough to keep a person busy and nothing more. Our lodging is more expensive than need be, but that's the result of trying to find a quick, cheap hostel after we hopped off the bus at the recommendation of a cab ...
Máncora, Piura, Peru nathanialwest... seasons getting some sun.
We spent the rest of the afternoon talking and drinking, until sunset. A few friends of hers from the hostel had wandered down to watch the sunset, so we all had a beer together.
We headed back to the hostel for a shower before going out for tea with a group of people from the hostel. Turned out to be like 20 Israelies. Probably a good thing, as I had been trying to avoid Israelies, especially in big groups like this ...
Mancora, Peru solskjaer20... cab which had joined our convoy. There was one other family there and the old man that is the caretaker. Anyway, we got changed and eventhought we were excited to get into the mud it still took a little bit of convincing that this was something that we really wanted to do. After a little coxing and one of the others that was with us climbed into the mud we slowly made our way in. It was weird to say the least, it was not as warm as I had thought it ...
Mancora, Peru bkrabel... a double bed on the main floor and a twin in the loft we went to check in. I should mention again that from anywhere in the hostal, except maybe the bathroom the view is to die for. After we signed in with our passports etc he proceeded to tell us about the safe spots at night and the best places to eat and where the clubs were at. It was an amazing change. The only down side which wasnt even that bad was the dirt path that lead in ...
Mancora, Peru bkrabelFirst of all the had heard some stories about how difficult and long winded the border crossing from Ecuador to Peru, but we found it really easy and didn´t have a problem at all, yes there are papers to complete but you expect that... Let´s see what Peru has in store...

30 minutes into the country we found out... in the town of Tumbres, which is described in my travel book as a "charmless" border town the bus pulled ...
Mancora, Peru kmtour09... to eat and drink so it was a well worth visit-wouldnt get in the water though as i saw alot of dead birds washed up and also saw a tottoise washed up one morning followed by eith a dolphin/shark the next morning-it was horrible-the whole insides had been eaten away!!Not sure what was in the water but didnt want to find out so stayed on dry land!!
On Tuesday night we met up with Conor and Eilis who are staying here for over a week before heading to live in Canada for a year ...
Mancora, Peru sharor... do getting up on the board, but he struggles more with catching waves. He manages to stand up on his board only to have the wave roll under him as he goes over it like a fishing bobber in the water.
Well, Andy figures out and surfs around us on his first day while Eric and I just paddle to nowhere and drink saltwater. Andy surfed for the afternoon while Eric and I sunburned trying. We spent the rest of our time in Mancora walking around the beach town ...
Mancora and Piura, Peru bjergaard... off and found the nearest hostel to the bus terminal as I was struggling. Got in and from there it just got worse. Shane went to buy tablets for vomiting and squirts, dry biscuits, Sprite, water, the list went on. Couldn't keep anything down though, was getting ridiculous. Same the next day, and that night I went to vomit again in the bathroom but fainted and fell into the shower. When I came to, Shane was looking down at me and I realised where I was. I got up ...
Máncora, Piura, Peru shanemilli... nazca. It was brutal. That day we all decided to leave and try a place called Loki. The outside architecture is greek and the inside design is completely unfinished. The place give you a wrist band which signifies "im a gringo in mancora and i want to get totally f-ed up" I felt like i was in cancun. Every night is party night. You will no doubt be up until 2 am when they last call the bar. On the way up to mancora ...
Mancora, Peru domenickbianco... much. From the balcony it was probably about 3meters to a gait and from the gate it was another 4meters to ocean. The ocean was clean, calm and the water wasn´t realy cold. First thing in the morning we took a swimm. After that we went for the breakfast. We always picked a restaurant on the bich. It was nice to have the breakfast and watch other people surfing. On Mancora street is a market on which we shoped little bit; and in the afternoon, we borrowed a surf and went ...
