... bit grotty and run down and a bit poor… that does not normally put us off though so not sure what was wrong. The town was under going a fair bit of renovation and rejuvenation work and has a hell of a lot of potential as great place to visit…so perhaps in 5 years that is exactly what it will be. We went for a wander and found the amphitheatre which was like a mini coliseum in the center of town. It ...

... the old stone replaced like this. But if it wasn’t done, there would be nothing left to see! Also, who’s to say what is ‘original’ and what is not after so long a time. For a building as old as this, I believe a few renovations have taken place over the years!
Just down the street was the Theater Antique, or Classical Theater. A century ...
... a painting. But instead of letting that get to me, I will sink myself into the paintings and see the world the way Vincent would have liked.
Colours changing hue.
Morning fields of amber red.
Weathered faces lined in pain
And soothed beneath the artist’s loving hand.
Envious of the painter’s ability to tweak ...
... that flamingos were native to France, but they are! Brian thought they would have all migrated by now, but I was able to catch a glimpse of a few!
But finally we arrived. Taking the first side road we could that wasn’t waay out of the way we went directly to the water to sit ourselves down on the Med and have a picnic. Beautiful! And we had it all to ourselves with just a few locals going for their mid-day walk or run. Now ...
... BUT the info we got for the campsite was wrong and it was closed.. and the one next door too. So a rushed internet trip we found one, way out and got there just in time. France is full of red lights, roundabouts and pedestrian crossings!!!! Im SOOOOO over them all!!!!
Got to the campsite and there were no buses in town,. We were exhausted by then so fell into bed and decided to give up on that part of France and head to Lyon the next day...
... full of flavour. For the second course I had a seafood dish and Alison had a beef stew on mashed potatoes (looked very simple but Alison said it tasted "Divine!"). My seafood dish had a variety of shellfish in their shells, and other seafood, and was delicious. Our desserts were a mousse made with raspberries, and soft meringues floating in thin custard (the descriptions do not do these dishes any justice at all).
The cost had ...
... I took lots of pictures. We hiked up the mountain overlooking the town and it got me excited to get out exploring and hiking around Montpellier and hopefully around the states some more when I get back. OH! I made my schedule for next year. By signing up for all the classes I need to take for the French major, to finish the core (Hummanities class) and the one elective I wanted (international politics) - I ended up with no classes on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. I am really ...
Saint Guilhem le Desert, France stephiesteph... simple and intensely rich in flavour due to the local organically grown apples. It was a really lovely night and a special insight into the French family way of life. Thursday, October 21 Another late start this morning after a leisurely breakfast at home in our garden cottage ... and then on the winding road back to see more of Menerbes and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue a lovely town divided in two by a pretty river. Here we saw the old men of the village playing boules and we ...
