Day 30 Bremen, Germany

Had breakfast at 8 am with Horst before he went to work at his Hansatouristik office in Contrescarpe Strasse. We walked the 3 km into the Hauptbahnhof to hire bicycles for the day and complete the River cycle tour. However we only had our drivers licenses with us and they would hire out bikes without siting our passports. Instead we decided to partly complete the 17km Bremen Innerstadt Runde bike tour on foot. We walked points 1-8 on the tour map covering Stadtmitte, ...

Our vacation starts

Getting up at 3:00 am is not nice, but the highway to the airport was empty. Checking in with Air Berlin was a new experience, but not quite positively. All information that we had keyed in for the online check in was irrelevant, we had to give them the complete information again. ... lady asks me if I'm going to Buchholz. Yes I am! She gives me a lift to the swimming pool because I'm in a desperate need of a shower. After the shower, I go into the centre of Buchholz. I've picked up some fresh tomatos, onions and garlic today so I can make a proper gravy for my pasta. I love my ...

... like to get. A new self inflating mattress and a cooker. The cooker is most important to me. I've been traveling for almost four months and, except for the rare occasions where I had a home cooked meal, I've been eating cold food. Furthermore, I've been eating a lot of bad food lately. As it turns out, it's way easier to get a self inflating mattress then a cooker. I didn't buy a mattress though. The ones ...

It's dry as I wake up. I break up camp quite early and start heading for Harsefeld which is on the route I'm taking to Buxtehude. I feel very energetic today. It's about 20 kilometre to Harsefeld and I've got more than enough energy to go on to Buxtehude. There's a problem though; the pain in my right heel is so bad that I'm actually thinking about taking the train to Buxtehude. Can you imagine? ...
