Back stage VIP... No biggie
... I was the loser... Not unusually.
The next day we got a historic and actually interesting tour of the city. Walked around to see churches and parks and the such. Autumn is so gorgeous in Germany!
Went to see a band called Moop Mama play in the nearby city of Dresden. Hard to explain their style of music. Brass band mixed with hip hop. Lots of freestyling. Immense amount of on-stage energy and fun. They are awesome! Look them up!

Auf geeeehts nach Afrika
... garnicht wissen, er ist auf jeden fall lang. Ich lande 9.30 abends und werde von Kerry, meiner praktikumsbetreuerin, abgeholt. Sie hat mir angeboten, die erste Nacht bei ihr zu schlafen.
Am naechsten Mogen nimmt sie mich auf dem Weg zur Arbeit mit in die Stadt. Ich werde mir dann schon mal einen ersten Eindruck verschaffen und ein bisschen rum laufen. Um 2.30 holt sie mich wieder ab und sie faehrt mich zu meinem neuen Zimmer fuer die naechsten 5.5 Monate.

Day 1 and we are off!
... leaving Holland and then decided to chuck it down in Germany! and as anyone who has driven on the German motorways knows, that the German drivers can be a tad aggressive, especially white merc van man!... oh well smile and nod..
Decided to look for some where to camp around 5pm and as luck would have it, when I stopped for fuel and asked the cashier if there were any camp sites near, he said there was one only 1500 metres ...

Hostel für die erste Nacht ist schon mal gebucht. Auf Bildern sieht es mehr als nur gut aus, Erfahrungsberichte sind allerdings ein wenig durchwachsen, wird Zeit sich ein eigenes Bild zu machen.
Da ich eigentlich keinen Blog machen wollte, hab ich mir noch nicht wirklich Gedanken darüber gemacht, wie oft ich hier was posten werde. Wahrscheinlich aber werde ich mindestens einmal die Woche ein Internetcafé aufsuchen, um euch auf dem neusten Stand zu halten.

For lunch, we went to the exact restaurant that my uncle went to when he came to Germany last October. After lunch, we went to an open-air museum, kind of like the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon, it was about everyday life years ago. There was a shoemaker’s shop ...
