Dresden to Berlin
... a much more interesting city than we imagined. Our train journey to Berlin was made more enjoyable by the surprise gin and tonic drinks Ruth and Mark organised, so the time went by quickly. ... the view at the end. Again, we got bad weather so we went for a walk around the shops and streets in Bruges and went back to get ready for dinner. It was quite an early night as wee were tired from the night before. Bruges is a really pretty town, we spent our last morning getting lost down the small streets and seeing the outer parts of the town. Oh What a Wonderful Day
... was a sight to see so, once again, I'm very glad I forced myself to do it. Afterwords, I headed back to the hostel, checked out, had dinner, and enjoyed more lovely conversation with the people in the common room. It was a lot of fun with all the different languages being spoken and someone having to translate every few minutes or so. It makes me want to learn more languages so that I won't be left out. Befriending the locals
We woke up to rain, rain, and more rain. We spent most of the day inside playing Scrabble, venturing out at one point to go check the internet. We'd been trying to find a couch to surf on in Amsterdam but had not been having any luck. Apparently, Amsterdam is one of the most impacted couch surfing areas and despite sending out several emails, we were unable to find anyone.
