We agreed 2 nights with Langenwald (as previously specced), but they had an issue with the previous departees. So we ended up sitting on pitch 30 for approx 3 hours with all our gear (clothes, dog, van blocks, van electric cable, van loo etc). We ended up negotiating to move gear (500m) to the chalet before we could embark as we were sitting red faced (from embarrassment as well as heat) on pitch 30 with no shade and no idea ...

Up early for our drive to the VW Garage. We spoke to Herr Soufflé and agreed to return in a couple of hours for the diagnosis. A good run for Prego then a cafe stop for us before a return to the garage for the verdict. Herr Soufflé said they need to keep the van for 24 hours but all would be good for approx 300 Euros. Basel was only about 2 hours away so we had a leisurely breakfast and morning and set off around 1pm planning to get to Basel around 3pm. We could probably have made it straight to Basel the night before but we know from experience the last few KM can take forever - which indeed they did again..... cue next blog page

... out that we needed refreshments. I am so proud of myself. I ordered 2 local white lagers on tap. Granted I had my phrase book in front of me, the bartender smiled and was happy to serve us. I felt so good about my speaking ability that I asked for another. When in france!! We went back to the hotel to meet Marlin and here we sit waiting for him to take us to some Tomb restaurant. Well worth the wait!!!! We sat in this title balcony and had beer and escargot ...
