I had delusions of grandeur envisaging us all biking around like locals. You know...fresh bread in my cute little basket up front, wind in my fabulous hair, red lipstick on and my perfect little family following along...My dream was shattered when I actually saw how the trams, cars, bikes and pedestrians share the same space. Not a hope in hell I am safe for bike riding here. Maybe in ...

First we took a trip to the Airport just to make sure there will be no hiccup finding it on Monday. As soon as we reached the southern edge of Haarlem we found a well signed separate path which took ...

We arrived and realised we hadn't figured out how to get from the train station, but with the help of a map and an information person we got a tram there that took about ten minutes. The area we are staying in is nice but not too nice, touristy but not too touristy, and surrounded by canals, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. We checked in, the hostel is pretty ...

Had a last good day in Venice...back to the Poste Vecie restaurant for lunch and once again had some amazing food. Went for a big walk after that and did some local shopping. Home to get ready for our New Year's Eve at the Hilton. A very beautiful hotel..not an old building but you would think it was. A six course dinner with all wines, beer included.....the courses were a wee bit too big but food great. We decided to head back to San Marco before midnight to get a ...
