Mass in France
... people attending the mass I had an overwhelming feeling of comfort. Even if we had nothing else at all in common - we at least had our faith all bring us together for one hour this week at the Cathedral.
Experiencing mass translating to French is really incredible and is a memory I'll keep.

Thanksgiving
... though - there was no turkey. Well, we bought some deli turkey to say that we physically had some... but no one ate it. We were really just not feeling the whole go buy a turkey with its head and feathers still on... Might as well just go kill my own while we're at it! So instead - we bought three roasted chickens... with no heads... fully precooked. They were yummy!

Ensuite, nous avons pris la route pour Nantes et nous sommes arrives chez nos amis Gilles et Ingrid en fin d'apres midi. Nous avons passe une belle soiree, nous etions tres heureux de les revoirs et aussi de renouer avec les apericubes!!!

La Rochelle, what a place. Incredibly hot day. La Rochelle has a massive marina and is currently building another extension to double its current size.
There are three noticable turrets in the town, two of which were used to guard the town harbor by extending a chain between them to prevent enemy ships from entering port.
Traditional wooden houses line each narrow street.

... case didn't work. The best part was that Jarrod (who is one of Bethany's friends - a professional basketball player for La Rochelle) had to eat all the left overs! He's 6' 8", a professional athlete, and even he was stuffed to the brim! Jarrod gave me a ride back downtown and it was absolutely hysterical watching a 6'8" boy get into a French/European car.
