    Today In the morning we had a morning swim. The water was cold. yesterday we went to the poy du fou and it was phenominal. They were trying to act the ww1 and ww2, they did very good. At the poy du fou there were translators that can also change to the radio and I got to keep my one. We are staying at a miniature hotel.

    ... enjoying our evening meal a huge fishing boat passed very close to us and waved probably after seeing our nervous grins... after topping up with ice and food stores for nearly and hour. Fishing boats were arriving and leaving all the time, at 5 in the morning there was a mass exit as well which woke us up.We got up 8 ish to sail to Ile d' Yeu and had breakfast on the way, there was plenty of cloud and SW winds, we switched the engine off very quickly and sailed at ...

    ... of Mme GPS! When approaching the old town, there were a number of road closures (route barrée). Therefore we had to go down 'tiny' streets and 'breathe in' as we did so, in order to make it through. It did feel as though we were back tracking but when faced with closed streets, one way streets and Mme GPS asking you to turn right/left and you can't, it was a bit of a longer return journey!

    ... lovely things. There is also a large photograph exhibit on in the village with photos from many artists on display both indoors and outdoors around the village. It is a beautiful village and the photographic exhibition is very interesting. The other lovely thing they do here almost to excess is flower displays. There are wi down boxes and flower gardens overflowing with colour and scent. We've seen these elsewhere in France but it's full on here. We ...

    ... At dinner we were sitting next to two Americans here on holiday and at the laundromat, we met an Aussie living here in France but on holiday here in La Rochelle. So it's all very social :). Once we're back on our room for the night, at about 1130pm, we can see the Ferris wheel all lit up.
