... in like sardines! We didn’t have a plan B as there were no campsites open at all at this time of year so all we could do was the same as everyone else, secure a space!

... at the local betting shop/bar we we're put in touch with a chamber d'hôtel with vacancies for 4 cyclists and two tandems. Sadly they weren't serving evening meals so we had to find a restaurant to eat before coping with our night at the chamber. I can report we have survived the meal and are now just off to bed after shower. Roll on tomorrow. Ps today's wildlife find was 4 deer. Sleep we'll folks, more news ...

Many years ago we had visited La Rochelle but our visit was spoilt by the most enormous thunderstorm so we had always wanted to return but had not been in the area since then.
