so on we went and arrived in tours. Albeit after a long sleepless night on the train and a brief moment in paris that included a walk to the seine.

so i informed them that all of that was simply UNACCEPTABLE and my classroom is a microcosm of the US, ergo if you are under 21 ( which thankfully they are only 19,20) drinking is strictly verboten and i don't want to hear about illegal ...

Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!

... handstands and all the rest.... spend hours cleaning the sand out of our bags and clothes! The next day was a stunning 26 degree day.. so so so nice. We never thought we would be at the beach again. Were tempted to stay but found out the next 2 days were not going to be great weather. Sadly we headed off at 4pm to head to Avignon.. Saying goodbye to the med forever was very hard.. and sad....

... we rested on benches overlooking the Mediterranean. We headed back to Nice and ate a very French dinner - baguette and cheese while overlooking the Mediterranean one more time. We have found ourselves on the Cote d'Azur (French Riveria) without really meaning to but what a fun few days it has been... ...we did stay that extra night in San Sebastian and ended up sleeping most of the next day due to our nocturnal activities. But we got our bums in gear in the afternoon and scooted into Southern France. Checked out Biarritz and Anglet and slept the night at Hossegar (all famous surf spots). We arrived in Nice tonight and if we lean our heads out the window, we can see the Mediterranean Sea. The neighborhood we are in is a major shopping district with things we can't afford, but enjoy viewing. Our hotel is sandwiched between Louis Vuitton and Chanel shops, and that's only the beginning. It's the evening now, but tomorrow we plan to do a little grocery shopping for food and then... hmm... lay on the beach??? We'll see if that works. Ciao!

... we are supposed to turn off onto D558, but somehow miss the turning. We are almost back in Ste. Maxime still in the rush hour pack, when I see St-Tropez across the bay. At this moment I know we have missed D558, so we double back. Eventually I find I had taken the wrong turn on a gigantic roundabout halfway between St-Tropez and Ste-Maxime. This lost us about 30 minutes, something we could ill afford as we are running way behind schedule.
