... and one particular woman with a body not dissimilar from the model in Lucian Freud's "Benefits Supervisor Sleeping" painting. Beautiful torquoise waters and a transplanted Londoner who helped us to a few rounds remedied my frazzled nerves. After soaking the sun for a few hours, we braved the cold waters. We did not however brave the nude beach...this time.

... and ours so we could truly enjoy the company and "spread out" while enjoying our drink (or drinks) of choice! Quite lovely.

Dinner was at Toscana - we were in the back and rather rowdy for such a sedate dining room! We celebrated Lee's birthday in style.

Dinner was sublime - the artichoke timbale was simply out of this world! Just superior...MUST have this recipe - probably takes a LOT of work, but we can do it!

... lakeside was amazing on this warm, bright blue-skied day, with the lake and views across to Switzerland on one side and the Palais Lumiere, the Casino and the Theatre on the other. I could almost imagine the ladies of the early 19th century promenading Evian's quays with their parasols and long flouncy dresses.

Sitting in one of the cafés, looking out over the lake, watching the pleasure boats that run between Evian, Geneva and Lausanne we were loath to leave ...

... something from him just so I could say I did. So I bought some ice cream and an espresso, (yes espresso). Only in France would they have an ice cream boat that also delivers espresso. So I went and laid out in the sun with my ice cream in one hand and my espresso in the other and just relaxed, listening to my ipod… life is good.

... Well afte rthe gawking and meandering we made our way back to the cars, found Dez and adam and headed for a beach just south of St Tropez where we new there was an aire. We found the glorified carpark, paid the few dollars they wanted AND THEN JOINED THE 50 OR 60 other motorhomes. A quick unpack and the beach was calling.
