    ... weather was beautiful today, very sunny but cool. The river was beautiful with many villages and chateaus along the edges. We got to Caudebac about 1:30. They fixed a special lunch for us in the lounge which was very good. We walked ashore and walked around the little town. Very picturesque.     Caudebec- Again great sun and blue sky...this morning we took a drive to see the thatched roof houses specific to Normandy. Many had thatched entrances, pool houses & garages. Along the roof ridge or crown are irises planted with their roots which help hold the thatch ...

    An early start was made earlier by leaving one of the shades open which woke everyone with the birds. It was hard to get up as it was a bit chilly but we had a deadline so we needed to get moving.
