... hold to your ear like a mobile and a narrator explains each scene, backed by music as you walk along the frame. The English version is narrated by a terribly plummy chap; he was ace! Fascinating hearing all of the explanations and the intricacies of the hidden messages. Crazy to think how much time and effort went into this storyboard and still blown away to have seen it... Really made my trip. We attempted a lunch out after the museum ...

... with a nice breeze. We arrived at the port of Ouistreham at 2.40pm so plenty of time for a little walk and coffee. There were elderly gents there with their medals on. When I was on the beach, I sat on the beach and just thought on the peaceful sand about the events that happened here ...

Leaving early, and deciding against getting brekkie before we left we saw that Sally and Simmo had been and gone, eager to get to the ferry. Paul's satnav was still not working and we'd forgotten to charge it. Heading off (and looking like we'd gone the wrong way up a one way street - we hadn't!) we got onto a small road travelling past pretty villages and ...

... caught the train to the Normandy coast. There was some anxiety about taking bikes on the train, but we quickly realized that it was easy to get on and off with bikes - so no sweat. We are now very comfortably settled into a lovely small hotel in Bayeux. We;e enjoyed some of the quiet country roads where the fruit is ripe and falling on the ground. If you ride past an apple orchard, you smell cider -fermenting apples.
