    The final frontier

... restaurant in a pretty village and ate galettes - savoury pancakes! And then more of the drive northwest and eventually a stretch of motorway which all but exhausted the available fuel supplies. Red Leader was 'running on fumes' as we pulled into the chateau and headed for the bar! After our pre prandial cocktails, Mrs BE went to shower. Now, obviously, I was not present but rumour has it that standing under the shower, ...

... with a nice breeze. We arrived at the port of Ouistreham at 2.40pm so plenty of time for a little walk and coffee. There were elderly gents there with their medals on. One came and shook our hands, so I had my picture taken with him. Finally on board 4pm waiting to sail. First stop, a seat at the front, second stop, a nice cup of tea. When I was on the beach, I sat on the beach and just thought on the peaceful sand about the events that happened here ...

Leaving early, and deciding against getting brekkie before we left we saw that Sally and Simmo had been and gone, eager to get to the ferry. Paul's satnav was still not working and we'd forgotten to charge it. Heading off (and looking like we'd gone the wrong way up a one way street - we hadn't!) we got onto a small road travelling past pretty villages and ...

... to take a a quick detour back to Honfluer for more crepes.
The drive to the Marriott at CDG was uneventful, UNTIL I took several wrong turns (GPS wasn't finding the hotel). Luckily with good teamwork, of driving and navigation...we figured it out. I was ready for a nice glass of wine and Ken, scotch...which thankfully the Marriott gave us for free!
    Early morning tomorrow...and back home.
