... was still cold and the cloud was very low. I was itching for a ride so decided to tackle some local Cols near us.

They were some great climbs, Villerzembrun climb with its hairpins and early steep ramps out of St Michel and Col de Beau Plan with forest mist through the clouds on quiet roads and only a fool like me out riding them. We just finished the tour du Mont Blanc - 180km, 3 countries, 9 days! Also some sore feet by the end...

Tomorrow I climb the Col de L'Arpettaz a climb full of hairpins and a little known gem down towards Albertville.

Rain is forecast so it could be interesting.

We were almost too full for dessert, so we shared a sample platter that included Crème brûlée, Tartufo, home made icecream, and a pudding, all of which were fabulous.

By now it was almost 10pm and tomorrow it would be back to the climbing, so we took our short stroll back to the hotel and called it a night.
