... hours and forty-five minutes of it, with a nap in between. As we started our descent into Geneva, I pulled open the window shade and looked out at the snow-speckled ground. It didn't look like much at first, but as we got lower and closer to the city, these mountains grew out of nowhere! Geneva is surrounded by the Alps and the Jura. We spent 10 days in Morzine staying at Chalet Kaila, learning how to cook, clean, and behave. Interesting experience. 150 people in the training group that will go on to staff, La Pagne, Les Gets, Alp du Hues, Morzine and Avoriaz. There are 10 chalets in Morzine and us up the hill. Literally 900m up and about 3 kms across. Pretty sanitised, and not somewhere for black humour or a wind up, although sometimes you just can't help yourself. Wide variety of people doing the job, ...

... don’t. Stay here" so that wasn’t an option. Our 15 minute ferry ride was to St Gingolph, where we took the train back. Due to a misreading of the schedule, though, we sat on the train for 40 minutes before it left so it at least felt like we went further. - watched the US v Germany world cup game in Italian. Jr ate French Fries, Eddie slept, and the Swiss marveled at how much beer we consumed (by English standards, we had a tame work lunch). It was hard to find ...

... 5:00 and got out ski equipment soon after. Following was a short information session and dinner. The dinner included free wine on tap! Needless to say, almost all of us walked out of that dinner table stumbling along the way. Later that night the international students got together in the hotel rooms. What was supposed to be a quiet night (because ...
