So we're now on route to Ljubljana capital of Slovenia. Our 4th Capital city this trip and 8th country crossed. We're 6 miles short of 1500miles into our trip and it's been amazing so far. ... there in Maribor, doesn't help we forgot our guide book either. The most entertaining bit was arriving in Ljubljana Airport and picking up the hire car for my first driving on the right hand side of the road experience (have previously driven in NZ but they are the same as side as the UK).

... His parents greeted us outside with heartfelt hugs and warm exchanges, this being the first time we'd ever met after years of hearing about one another. His mother spoke very little english, but I'm constantly amazed at how much warmth and feeling can be shared without a word spoken. ... a fish! She absolutely loved every minute of it. We are learning a few words here and there, and having fun trying them out on the locals. We are also adapting to our hotel's interesting evening entertainment, which consists of a guy playing keyboard over pre-loaded synth tracks to the same 3 songs, over and over again. If I hear his version of Toto's 'Africa' again I might snap. Gotta love that Eastern European entertainment! Until next ...
