    ... to modern times. Not only has the building been restored so to has the magnificent gardens. We enjoyed a new film " Cezanne in the Aix region" most interesting and enjoyable. Rembrandt ,Van dyke,Hans ,work was on display for us to enjoy. The other Musee Granet, once again many great artists work, Cezanne once again was featured.     ... and many meeting places. Place et Fontaine Is correct name. Really means great big oak trees with many old buildings surrounding a fountain in the centre and many eating and drinking places spreading out onto the cobblestones ,in these places one has to stop and have a drink of some kind.     ... long. It was built to carry water in Roman times and has 356 arches and was really impressive to view from the water.
    Rami went for a swim in the cool water as the weather had at last turned summery.
    7 kms after setting out we returned our kayaks and had our first McDonalds of the holiday. Then after a quick detour to visit the colosseum at Nimes we set off to our overnight stop of Cassis.
