Day 16 - The Monte Carlo
This mornings mission is to find an atm to get some money out as I'm running low from my last withdrawal in Venice. After succeeding to get out money we bought croissants from a very fancy bakery. Simple things like buying a croissant can be so hard. For instance in Australia in a bakery you would ask and pay the same person but here they get you to pay the person at the cash register or you can be asked to pay first and then you are given a docket to ...
We return to the ancestral manse
... that serves as a barrier to keep non-residents from driving into the village. It’s about the width of a telephone pole, two feet tall, and sinks down into a hole in the road to allow passage when the nearby card reader is activated. Simon, Max and I walked up to the village to buy the obligatory baguettes and some croissants for breaky. It's only five minutes up the road and there are all the essential shops such as the boulangerie (baker), the boucherie (butcher), ...
Living the High Life for a Couple of Days
... is buried. Really nice gothic style cathedral and in very good condition. Then we toured the State Rooms of the Palace for 8 euro. Again, much smaller compared to other European Palaces, but still decorated with gold trimming and amazing ceiling paintings. No photos allowed, but I found it all quite interesting as u have an electronic audio guide as u tour that gives the history and description. They are setting up for Prince Alberts' wedding, which is 1-2 ...
