Hotel du Questel Brest

Sad parting this morning leaving the Corlesquet’s. They were a wonderful family and I only wish we were able to let to know them a bit better and help a bit more around the farm. Mami gave us a gar of her homemade jelly for the road - I could have almost cried! She took the blackberries (Muir) that I picked and brought them as a present (cadeaux) on the first day and made it into jelly for us ...

... 8217; road, and scummy ponds where wash used to be done tell back to a time when things were very different. Mami herself is an enchating lady. At first glance you know she is a wealth of information as she putters around the kitchen. Hands and fingers knarled from years of hard work still fly faster than a young pair when peeling apples or potatoes.

Brest. It is a lovely place in Brittany, near france where they speak french. Brest was good and fun so i am going to tell you about it. Well my mum felt sick so we stayed at a port side hotel for the night. Then we set out the next morning to the hotel we were supposed to stay at. The day after we checked ...

... Marg and Ben and took them back to have lunch. we spend a fantastic afternoon as we talked and remembered all those souvenirs... anyway as all good thing always come to an end, we went back to the hotel to pack our bags as tomorrow we are heading for the Mont-Saint-Michel.

After a restful night I decided to go and do the washing duty as marg was still under the weather and Josh was not feeling well either so it was as well. As soon as I was done I swinged by the local fast food to bring home lunch so we could seat down and have something to eat while we watched the game. Australia v France... it was a ...

... I deliver ... in no time we are back in the car and on our way the bay of the trespassed. It got its name because every time a ship got wrecked along this coast all the dead body would wash up on this beach. We spend the rest of the afternoon there and watched the sea and the surfers trying to get on waves... the biggest being about 6 inches high. What a laugh. As it was getting late we went back for dinner at the hotel and a good night sleep.

... unpacking we went to Oceanopolis which is the local aquarium. My god it has changed in the last 25 years since I came back here. We had a great afternoon. came back home but as marg was still a little sick I left everyone home and went to have dinner at JP alone. It was fantastic and we had a great time, so much to catch up on and so little time. Came home late at around 1am tired but happy.

... to check the apartment with her. Anyway we finally got on the road and made our way out of Paris quiet fast and got on the freeway at a cruising speed of 150km/hr. The further we got from Paris, the sicker Margaret got so we had to find a hotel quickly. After a few phone calls we arrived in Camaret sur mer, a lovely little sea port on the Brittany coast and stayed there for the night.

Tuesday July 12th, 2005 - HOTEL.....SO......FAR..... Going from the nice cool Switzerland, back to the burningly hot France took its toll on us as we tried to find our hotel. the information desk at the train station had no clue where it was and we had to find out for ourselves. after more than 30mins of walking, we finally found it and it turned out to be amazing. we had a frige and we were EXTATIC. we made our way to a grocery store and bought such items as milk (yay!!) and ...

... September 4 Menec group and Kermario group menhirs about -6000 years! Sunny and warm day and no clean clothes, I did a part of the way with the belgian girls and another person left me at Carnac. I finally reached the menhir spot but everything was fenced and couldnt be reached so you had to look at them from far, really frustrating. I walked about 3h on a little road before I at last found the main road back ...
