Travelers Tip #14: When staying in a French apartment in a building from the 1800's that you found on AirBnb, do NOT let your parents see the super creepy, Medieval-like stone stairwell that leads to your front door. And FYI, learned that wind is a thing in Provence. All year long it happens, and can last for a minute, or a week. So, I did 4 days in Antibes(French Riviera) right when I got in, and now I'm in Avignon (west Provence) for another 4 until heading to ...

As is usual on our holidays, we went for an evening stroll. Helena needed a wee and while finding somewhere to go, fell backwards into a ditch...I couldn't pull her out for laughing! (It was dry!)
We came across a very friendly (guard) dog, which dribbled down my leg, 3 gorgeous dairy cows and a shed full of the most gorgeous goats, who all wanted a tickle! I want goats!
We had a late night with Dominoes!

... and our journey really slowed down, the closer we got. However, the scenery got much better! Louis then decided it would be a good idea to stick his headphones plug into the rear cigarette lighter instead of the DVD player. Flash...no sat nav, no DVD player! The little bugger had fused the electrics! 2 weeks in the middle of France with no Sat Nav and a 10 ...

... how to play the ancient game of Petanque! What a hoot! We first watched some locals play the game....

... Then we got to try it for ourselves! And of course there was complimentary coffee-- definitely not up to the "size" standards we are used to, but I think Dad enjoyed holding his steel balls and dainty cup! ; )

After Petanque (My and Mom's team won) we went on a walking tour of the ...
