The third day we headed into Bordeaux. It was so hot, about 37 degrees, but such a beautiful city. We were going to do the 70 minute bus or 60 minute guided train around the city but found a map and decided to do our own tour with Jim reading the map and me taking the photos, perfect.

... some discussion, and advice that it was only a 15-minute walk, we set off with our baggage and bikes and the airport luggage carts to walk. That was certainly an adventure as we struggled through a couple of ditches and negotiated a couple of roundabouts which were not intended for pedestrians.

... my ankle, wrist and derriare before I could get in the van. As a result the next day was declared a washing day. It needed doing because my keks were chasing my socks around the van and threatening them.
As a result I have lovely clean clothes but didn't get another paddle. There will be other opportunities I'm sure.
Having time to contemplate I realised I've been in France for nearly 2 weeks and really should crack on, so I trundled steadily ...
