I am a bit behind on my blogging. After leaving Tucson at 10:30 AM on June 1st, I did not get a chance to go to bed until the night of June 2nd. ... guys. Yea, us! We left the ship after turning in our comment sheets and a charge for the 240 Euros as a tip for the crew. We walked to the train station, dragging our luggage. Wayne wouldn't let me pull mine so he had both his and mine and all I had was my backpack. We found a Starbucks & ordered coffee or hot chocolate so we could sit at their table until we had to find our 11:15 am train to Paris. We were served a snack and ...
... We wandered around the Arc and Terry read all the names of all the French victories and generals which are inscribed on it. It was exciting being up close to such a famous monument. Then we strolled down the Champs Elysee, and even though it was a late Sunday afternoon, there were crowds of people. We did some window shopping, went into the Mercedes Benz shop and went into a beautiful arcade. All a bit rich for us.
... were in costume and made up--were perhaps not particularly thrilled to participate but as the crowds waved them on, they quickly seemed to get into the spirit. Towards the end of the parade, bagpipes blared and couples danced to music dressed in their regional French costumes. The crowd often mingled and Rob was hugged by one of the dragons in the parade.
