... and come out of the frame. This would be awkward anytime but was made worse by the fact that the next Airbnb guests are arriving tomorrow, so somewhat urgent to get the window fixed. Bob and Daisy were out and in central London and were incommunicado and Lucy was trying to ring her insurers. ... me started a very loud conversation/argument over a building project they were involved in. They kept it up throughout the entire flight causing the people around them, myself included, to lose the will to live. The woman would accuse the man of some gross inefficiency and then he would invariably say "oh no no no no. Let me just say....." and spout off for ages. I wanted to nap but they made it impossible.

That would have been pretty stupid I figured.
I called Hawaiian Airlines nonetheless to enquire about my options.

They said flying from Washington would cost me about 600$, because they would have to rebook me to a partner airline which was really expensive on such short notice.
Regarding getting on the plane in LA, they said I had to pay a 150$ change fee and 90$ fare difference, 240$ extra in total.
