This morning was an early start (6 AM) to catch the TGV train to Geneva. We had to take the metro to Paris Lyon, where we bought lunch for on the train, and then caught it to Switzerland. It was a bit slower than the Eurostar and took around 4:30. Otherwise it all went smoothly though. Once in Geneva, we caught the tram to CERN, the end of the line, and were slowly transferred ...

... Mike was coming from another business venture. He arrived first, I got there an hour later and Tamar was an hour after me. We stayed at a short-term apartment rental which was very well located to Mike's conference and the downtown area. Sunday was spent checking in, walking around, getting our bearings, finding groceries, and wine of course.

My big surprise for Geneva is that they totally speak French there. Not just the guys at the U.N., no, ...

... few decades. Let's just say it's gotten a lot smaller. I can't help but wonder if it's a good idea to have hundreds of tourists per day walking around inside a glacier and touching it when it keeps getting smaller. It was cool (ha get it? It's a glacier!) and we had a great day.
