... on the night of the 800 year celebration of the town. Everyone seemed to be out enjoying the balmy evening and free entertainment...... And so were we! We even got interviewed by a lovely guy from the local paper. The only issue was trying to negotiate the language, which is a particular dialect of German. Of particular issue the use of parking meters and the menus, but both were eventually negotiated with the assistance of helpful ...

Lausanne on Lake Geneva beautiful!!

After a busy day at The Top of Europe we hopped in the car and arrived at Lausanne at 8pm, checked into a gorgeous hotel booked the night before overlooking the lake. Our room was faultless and the service has been exceptional and friendly.

We spent the first morning chilling, actually we did not wake up until 10am as the block out blinds really did their job!! We got out of the room ...

... bikes go but soon we were on a well engineered road cruising at around 60km/hr. Steve and I coaxed the bike up to 70 a couple of times by crouching down. This went on for about 30km. With some concern about the distance to travel & the time required, we were up early and packed in no time! Lynda & I headed off to collect the car from the car park, at €57 for the 2 days we were pleased that we'd moved it!

We double parked in a no standing zone, which appears to be common practice in Europe, and went up to gather our gear. We hugged Lucy and wished her well for the rest of her travels, it is sad to ...
