      We woke up to a very hard frost. Luckily this campsite has lovely heated wetrooms. We set off to Beziers to join the A75 free motorway, which climbs up to almost 1200m. We would not know until the start of the climb up towards Lodeve if the whole road would be open.

      ... took the back roads following the The Lot and Le Vers rivers into the hills arriving at Collonges la Rouge about 2hrs later. It was a very nice drive with us passing through many small villages with roads so narrow that only one car could pass through at any one time.       ... last Station leading to a cave where a sanctuary depicting Jesus being laid in the tomb has been carved into it.

      The next stop was the Chateau where Roy and Nathan made their entry to explore what was on the other side of a large fence and were treated to views over the town and surrounding area.

      ... walking tour of the town. Our first site was a walk up the hill to the ruins of the town fort. The fort dates from the 11th century and is perched on the highest point above the town. All that is left is the base of the rock walls after it was abandoned in the 16th century but you are able to see and imagine how it was positioned on the hill and the dominance it must have held over the surrounding area.
