In case you were worried that yesterday's post was going to be the last after the catastrophy that was the night time cycle, we perservered after realising that giving up after a day was ridiculous! We had the worlds tastiest breakfast, having only eaten a packet of biscuits for dinner the night before, then set off at a much more sensible time of the day. ... the cold, the hedges were looking very inviting and each turn of the pedals was the **********e yet.
Eventually, gone 1 in the morning we wearily rolled into Pontivy. The hostel felt like a five star hotel and we very quickly fell asleep.
It was the hardest dqy of cycling either of us had ever done and we have learnt not to plan a long first day again. That is if we ever decide to go on a second cycle tour.

... race and it took till 3.00pm for it to reach us.
We enjoyed the prelim build up to the race, ate some French bread, nibbles and then all the riders came thru with the first 5 , 4 minutes up on the rest.
Once they had all passed thru everyone starts heading home, the road is blocked for a while then it thins out and we remained in our spot to watch the last 100ks on ITV4, we wonder if ...
... few things, the kids love it and scramble to get anything that is thrown out from the passing floats.
A guy who lives some of his time in Melbourne and some time here stops and asks if we can give him some water. He has ridden from his mothers place quite a few km's away. We get chatting and we watch some of the TV coverage as the bike riders are getting closer.
They will be here soon so I had better go and get a good vantage point .... J
... before Lorient as we run out of time and don't make it to St Gildas, but instead after Vannes start to head North again towards Paimpont and Les Forges where Janice and Ted had text to say they were not far from, found them and then looked at another spot to park, that wasn't right and ended up at Forges.
It was alot of driving today and goes to show you can't really cover more than 200kms and see anything, the day is gone ...
