    ... stopped for lunch. Les also took the opportunity to buy a new pair of boots as his attempts at repairing his existing boots with 'Gaffa Tape' had failed sceptically!

    ... are the designer shops - Prado, Chanel etc where the gamblers could spend their winnings. Baden Baden is a very wealthy city, popular for its mineral spas and “wellness” tourism. We saw bus loads of people arriving to soak in the thermal pools and be fussed over. There were more high end shops in the city centre but we opted for the more middle of the road ones another block away!

    ... up the canal walls. One of the locks was right in Petite France. From mideval Strasbourg, we went all the way to the various different European Community buildings - very modern and really not as quaint. Overall the tour was great and I am glad I went. I took the tram back to the hotel and met up with Brian who had just gotten up from his nap.
