The path we had walked on arrival was shut behind gates that wouldn't open until 8am, so I turned back down the hill and came out at the far side of the viaduct - far too high for me to walk across, but I could see a little path going up the grassy bank under the wall behind me and followed that to come out on top of the ramparts further along. Carnac is a small village in Brittany, home to over 3000 megalithic stones. They're not big like Stnehenge, actually about waist height. They date back to a time between 5000 and 3500 BC and covers around five or six areas throughout the village.
