... and yes, the mountains are impressive.
As we didn't want to take Frankie too high into the alps, we chose a campsite at Lausanne on Lake Geneva. It is known as Lac Leman by the locals. The first day we went to the lake to have a look. The water was clear, blue and very clean. Apparently it has not always been like it and in the 1960's it was too polluted to swim in. When you stay ...

We finished another long day, from Champex, Switzerland. This is the northern most point on the TMB trail. About 3 hours into our hike, in the middle of a cow pasture high above the valley we encountered the Alp Bovine cafe! It was almost at the high point of our hike today. We had a sandwich and. Old drink there before continuing to Hotel De La Forclaz. The hike ...

We had started the hike around 11:30 and made it to the top around 2:30. Getting up there was a struggle. The incline existed the entirety of the hike, but once we got to the last half hour or so it rose ...

... But not the good kind. I definitely felt like I went back a decade. Especially since all of the videos shown were of snowboards and skateboarders via 1995. I managed to gather up the alcohol courage and actually practice my french on the locals. To my surprise, most of them were actually English or Australian. Go figure! All in all, a fun time especially after all of the other ICN people came out. Really getting a feel for the ERASMUS atmosphere.

... highway along the lake, accompanied in the cycle lane by even more of these grumpy Swiss MAMIL’s.

Following the highway turned out to be a good idea though, as from it I actually spotted a campsite down by the lake it was so close by. Despite this close proximity to the highway, and the railway line the campsite itself felt cut off from the noise by its immediate surroundings - set amongst a quaint harbour with ...
