Chateaux et Jardins

... travelled. "Same", says I. Shook our hands when we left and wished us happy travels.

And for once we were home before 5pm. And it's taken me all the time since to write this. Jonathan has poured the red and shortly we'll spruce up and ascend to the town in search of dinner. Along the port here are predominantly Italian or oysters and mussels, and we'd like something else - not sure what. Seafood seems to be prime, being Brittany and summer.

We then headed northwest towards the Normandy coast to see France’s second most popular tourist attraction, Mont St-Michel. It was a 3 hour drive, about half of it on a six lane Autoroute (19.80 Euro toll charge) and the rest on scenic narrow two lane roads that took us through rural areas and small villages.

Saint Malo - Day 2

... lead us to the walled city and along the beach. The waterfront is made up of lots of beaches, so is really long. It is popular with kite surfers and wind surfers because of the strong winds and flat water. I think we would have walked about 15 km today. We stopped in the walled city for a very late lunch on the way home, Jillian was very happy to find a place in the sun away from the ...
