... could escape but Tom Tom found us an alternative taking us straight through the middle of a village as they were setting up the square for the market. Tom Tom has a penchant for excitement alright!

Our first stop was in the region of the Marie Poitevin, a low lying swamp that has been heavily canalised to enable access for farmers. Known as the Venice Vert (or green Venice) it is France's answer to Mandurah! The next day we headed for our ...

... and found a supermarket at Carentan. We stopped at an Aire in la Haye du Puit to fill up with water and to do some washing. Just about all the shop windows had WWII displays left over from the 70th anniversary of D-Day. We carried on to an Aire on the coast again at Surtainville, a quiet little seaside resort. I wonder how long it will be before we visit Normandy again.....I suspect it may be a ...

... when we got suckered into the museum pass. It was 18 euros for the adults, sort of a bend over situation in my mind. The museums were playa, the chastity belt was fairly horrifying so that was worth the price of admission there. Medieval torture instruments, huge riding boots and a statue of a guy that got stuck in the quick sand ( which completely terrified Ripley) were all part of the museum. He last section had the dungeon part which Ripley was not prepared for and screamed when ...

... for supplies at the Super U, supermarket buying charcuterie, cheese, bread and salad to replay the meal we had with Paul and Averil last night. Today has been an even nicer day weather wise so we are expecting an absolutely beautiful evening to eat outside. We rested before heading over for dinner about 7pm and had a family game of soccer in the beautiful garden in the bright sunshine. Apparently Paul has been resting all day so I hope he is up to visitors again ...
