Pretty spot on the French Spain border

... immediately so at the very least I can dream for a while longer…

On Dan’s first trip while learning to sail he thought he would try to raise money for an orphanage his friend worked in, in the Dominican Republic. So he raised money through his blog (www.theworldbysea.blogspot.com) and also in marinas by organizing fundraising parties. Within a few weeks he had $2000 all of which went to the orphanage and local villagers in need.

5th Day Cycling (final day)

WHAT THE BROCHURE SAID: Although there are no major climbs, don't be fooled into thinking the ride will be flat! We head
through Thuir and hit the Mediterranean at Argeles—Sur—Mer. From here we undulate (some
fairly large undulations!) along the coast road through the fortified town of Collioure, to our
final destination of Cerbere. Cerbere is a pretty fishing village with a beach and ...

... Sauveur. Next up
is the Col De Tourmalet (2115m), a mountain climb which needs no introduction. After a bit of
souvenir shopping at the top (where there is also a great café with some interesting Tour de
France artefacts), we descend to St Marie De Campan, and from here to our hotel in Campan.

Boots Off

Arrived Banyuls around 3.30 yesterday afternoon. Spending the next couple of days in Collioure soaking up the sun and relaxing until my flight home on Wednesday. Will plan to update the blog in detail when I arrive home.

The End is in Sight Literally

... spot everytime and is knocked up in about 6 minutes flat and wolfed down in about the same.

No dramas to report thus far, oh apart from yesterday I really thought I was being followed by a vagabond and managed to convince myself I was going to be killed by an axe weilding madman. I even sent a description by text to Sally in the hope that when I was found missing she'd be able to give a description of my kidnapper. It turns out he ...

Cherry-stone Spitting!

Short peage trip to friends' mas just south of Perpignan. Lovely lunch then into local town late pm for Festival of the Cherries - first ripe pickings. Great crowds, so much nicer and more natural than St Trop. Visiting marching bands - very oompah.

Fierce competition among the locals to see who could spit a cherry-stone the furthest - over 9m being achieved.
