... of it over a high fence. It is just one more thing I'll have to research on the internet after I finish my trip. Lastly, I also saw lots of Nestle buildings between Lausanne and Montreux, which suggests their HQ might be here.

Tomorrow's accommodation will be at an Abbey in the town of St Maurice, on the way to Martigny. I doubt I will have Wi-Fi access for a couple of days, so please don't assume that radio silence means anything sinister has happened to me on the slopes.

I spent a very pleasant rest day in Arras where the highlight was a visit to the quarries under the main square that now house themed gardens from each continent (except Antarctica) using special heating and lighting. I also committed my one and only fashion faux-pas of the trip the same day as all I had to wear for my tourist activities that wasn't being washed was an olive green T-shirt, olive green trousers, a khaki hat ...

Later in the day I went out with some friends to a overtly trendy bar on the river in Geneva. Prada jackets and Rolex watches adorned the bodies of Geneva's young elite as they casually sipped cocktails and beer. As fun as it is to experience once or twice, that kind of place really isn't my scene and I went home early. I clearly am not European enough for some watering ...
