We spent 10 days in Morzine staying at Chalet Kaila, learning how to cook, clean, and behave. Interesting experience. 150 people in the training group that will go on to staff, La Pagne, Les Gets, Alp du Hues, Morzine and Avoriaz. There are 10 chalets in Morzine and us up the hill. Literally 900m up and about 3 kms across. Pretty sanitised, and not somewhere for black humour or a wind up, although sometimes you just can't help yourself. Modular homes in Ontario have come a long way in the last 50 years. Every year, there are more and more modular home companies being developed who manufacture and sell homes. We wandered back down and had ice cream and fish and chips in a lovely cafe. A walk along the water gave us a chance for a few photo opportunities. Ferry back to ...

... we met three Swiss kids from the area, Kaio was 8, his little sister Kali was 6, and Rodrigo was 10. We started a game with the two boys and had lots of fun We did tricks, scored, celebrated and laughed at each other. After our game finished, we started to talk to them or at least try to communicate with them. Kevin tried some of his French and Kaio spoke twenty words of English. We managed communication fairly well and then had to leave. We decided to stay close and went ...

      Hi All!
I am officially done with my classes! Yesterday I had to write a few essays for a take-home exam and earlier this past week I had an oral and written exam for French. Everything went just fine (I think!) As Laure pointed out to me yesterday, I now will not be in class again until the end of August! I have from now until the end of April to do an independent study project that requires me to consuct about 8 interviews, write a 30 page paper, and give a ...
