I'm on a Boat!

... failed, there goes our camera for the rest of the trip, but as you can see it worked great. We also invested in these $14 round floaties from Target that are key when you are like me. I mean I want to be in the water, but I don't want to swim...drowning isn't an option.

I tried putting on my Zune with the loud external speaker, but the Italo pumped up his boats stereo and drowned out my music with his Jazz. I took that as a ...

Sinatra and Battle!!!

... young age, but managed to become a very successful lawyer and is heavily involved in the Italian Association for the Blind. His wife, Giovanna, is equally as magnificent as she describes everything to him with such great detail that he could probably visualize the gift we got them.

Tonight we saw the most spectacular show in the Marina. It was the BIGGEST stage we have ever witnessed. They reenacted how the British were invading Castellammare and the townspeople ...

Pizza, Beach and Climbing Oh My!

... was rough today. She went in the water with Aunty Jo and after going in too deep, got yelled at by a whistle blowing lifeguard in a pink speedo. "Don't you see the red flag?" he yelled in Italian. Uncle Tommy and I met up with them, had a small lunch and then it was off to mountain climbing. Unfortunately you can't wear just any sneakers and I had to borrow my cousins. By the way I am a size 11 and he is a 7. My toes are still curled and look like my grandpas did. I almost gave up ...

Finally the Beach!

... we came out the 2nd time to tan. Our cell phone hasn't worked yet, so Uncle Tommy actually dropped us off and said he would be back in 3 hrs to pick us up for lunch. Strange, but I guess that is how we did it back in the day before cell phones.

I am proud to say that I have yet to wear a watch on this trip yet. I don't know how long that will last, but so far ...

Come 'sta? Bene....molto bene.

... in a spacious and set up apartment above my aunts house. We love them. They are great and very hospitable. You can see our view from our veranda.

Last night Angela and I ventured off on our own going by what we remembered from 2007. We sat and had great Mojito's at Diego's Canteen Aurelia. Then we walked down to the ...

Scopello band in the piazza

... great picture to upload but will need to get to an Internet cafe. I have been typing these blogs using my iPod - one finger using wire fire at our apartment. Were not quite slumming it here in Sicily! I must say there are some similarity to India, the Sicilians seem to be having trouble with there garbage collection as rubbish is piling up every where around collection points. There could be a strike by the garbologists? Ciao

Trapani and Erice from Malta in 40 minutes

Well, it is indeed a very short way to fly, more like a bus ride than a flight, definitely not more than 40 minutes.

And the pilot excelled in riding the wind and got us down in time. Arrival just after departure.

This review is aimed at all travellers who are on their way to Trapani and to Malta. I suggest that in both cases, you pre-book a Ryan air flight when the offers are incredibly cheap and stay for a weekend in the other place. This means ...

DAY 7 - PALERMO: TRIUMPH OF ART AND TRADITION

... from the Norman influence of the 14th century. The Martorana has frescoes and similar archways and domes, but different decorative artwork depicting stories from the Bible. - At various points throughout the day, we had free time to roam around a major focal point to Palermo, the Opera House. This Opera House is famous for many things and has very beautiful ...

DAY 6 - EMOTIONS FROM NATURE: ZINGARO RESERVE

... design. It was so much fun, but I won't know for sure how successful my pottery art will be until I get it back in a couple of days. The pottery still needs to be heated in a kiln. I have to mention a funny incident that happened to me while we were finishing our pottery. I made a quick run to the bathroom, and being very typical of Italian bathrooms, it was unique. The key ...

Segesta, Marsala, Mozia and the salines

On June 22, 2007 our skin was still burning from the full day we spent at sea with the inflatable boat, so we decided to do some sightseeing and went to the beach in San Vito Lo Capo only for a couple of hours in the afternoon. In the morning we drove to Segesta where there is a Greek temple still ...
